The NCN engages with the aerospace sector through activities such as roadmapping and foresighting in order to define future goals and targets for the industry. Roadmapping is a knowledge capture technique that defines the capabilities, technologies and products required to achieve these goals. In June 2006, NCN ran a roadmapping workshop with participants from a representative cross-section of the aerospace sector which produced an initial roadmap with the following vision

To achieve

• Leadership in design and development of aerospace composites
• Continued growth in aerospace composites through control of manufacturing in low cost areas and investment in design and automated production for high value composites in the UK.
